Private beta · plain English

Your writing stays yours.

Write a Little is being tested as a private, local-first iPhone app. This page describes the behaviour of the current beta—not future features we may explore.

Your writing

  • Your practice entries and draft are stored locally on your iPhone.
  • The beta does not require an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, its profile identifier, shared name and shared email are stored locally by the app.
  • Signing in does not upload or sync your writing, and signing out does not delete it.
  • The beta does not upload your writing to a production AI service.
  • We cannot read your writing unless you deliberately choose to share it with us.

Beta feedback

If you join the private beta, we may ask about your experience, confidence, clarity and reasons for returning or stopping. Please do not send private writing in a bug report or interview unless you actively want to. We will ask separately before using any quotation or identifiable story in marketing.

The Story in Seven newsletter

If you sign up for Story in Seven, we collect your email address so we can send you one email a week with a story kit and prompts. We only add you after you click the link in our confirmation email. Our legal basis is your consent.

Your address is stored by Kit (Kit Inc., kit.com), which sends the emails for us. Kit is based in the United States and protects the data under a contract that covers UK data protection law. Kit tells us whether emails are opened and links are clicked, so we can see which prompts people like.

We never sell or share your address. We keep it until you unsubscribe, then delete it within 30 days.

You can unsubscribe with one click from any email. To see or delete what we hold about you, email support@theguudlyf.com.

The website

The Write a Little website itself still does not use analytics.

Questions or deletion requests

For beta privacy questions, contact support@theguudlyf.com. Because writing is stored locally, removing the beta app and its local data remains under your control; support can explain the current steps.

Before publication: update this page if analytics, crash reporting, email collection, TestFlight processing or any remote service is enabled.
